Lazarea

                                   Located at 8 km from Gheorgheni,  and 28 km from Toplita

            A residence-castle from the 16th c., it is placed near Gheorgheni, on a meadow near a forest; built in the Renaissnce style, it was the former residence of the Szekler noble family of the Lazars; its rectangular precinct is flanked by bulwark towers placed at its corners. Its fairly original and sumptuous aspect is yielded by the stone and brick embattlements and decorations inspired from traditional Szekler embroideries; nowadays, it exhibits collections of art.
