The Romanian Orthodox Archiepiscopal Cathedral dedicated to "Inaltarea Domnului" si "Sfanta Treime" – Targoviste.

  

  Location 

84 km north-west of Bucharest, 48 km west of Ploiesti, 66 km south-east of Campulung

  The cathedral was beginning in the first half of the 15th century, by the Radu cel Mare, when it had one principal body and three steeples. In the time of the Neagoe Basarab (1518), the church was transformed in the monumental church and consecrated to May 17th 1520. The cathedral was finished and painted by the Radu Paisie in 1537.

  By the Metropolitan Teodosie, the church was restore and re-painted by the painter Nicolae Radu (1707 – 1709).

  The Church 

was built by the schemes of the French architect Lecomte de Nouy (1899 – 1933) in the Byzantine style.

  In the Matei Basarab reign, here was the princely typography ("Pravila cea Mare", 1652); the typography was reestablished by the Antim Ivireanu, between 1709 and 1715, in the Constantin Brancoveanu reign.
